Wonderful little moor pond, but mega cold for swimming ... the hut is a dream to stay with little Bavarians. Snacks at reasonable prices. Nice service. A real tip as a stopover on a bike tour or hike.

Super great beer garden that can only be reached on foot or by bike. However, it is not far to get there. And the way is worth it. Location totally idyllic on the lake and there is really good food. The lawn by the lake is very beautiful and spacious. We weren't in the water, but the bathers had a lot of fun. Next time only with swimming suits.

According to the locals, this is where the best coffee and cake are served. The cake was very good, the coffee ... (I'm used to better ones). The champagne tasted stale. There are also snacks to eat here. The idyllic lake and the opportunity to use the sunbathing lawn alone are worth a visit.

Nice romantic lake, but I didn't go for a swim. Is too cloudy for me. 😇

Wonderful location on Faulensee. Hearty food so that everyone can find something. Add a beer and the "Hüttenschmaus" is ready. The preparation and waiting time is short and the measures against Corona are optimally resolved. Everyone is super friendly and the price-performance ratio is great. It wasn't our first time and it definitely wasn't the last time. Keep it up !!!!!

After a walk in the forest of hops over the castle ruins, we arrived in the Faulenseehütte. It was very nice to eat there and enjoy the view. You could swim in the Faulensee, children have a playground and the food was delicious.

I just loved this place. The view is just breathtaking and there is no real way to accurately portray the atmosphere other than being there. I ordered a simple Schnitzel and it was the most succulent, delicious Schnitzel I ever ate. My recommendation is to go there only when the weather is good, since that way you can really take in the view.

Really idyllic place, definitely worth a hike. Do not forget swimwear, there is a "non swimmer area" in the lake. You also get something to eat and drink there.

Small cozy cabin, overlooking the Faulensee. The right destination for people who are not demanding too much.

The faulenseehutte is a super traditional German country hut, by the beautiful secluded Faulensee - a small natural lake that is one of the "hidden gems of Hopfen". Accessible by bike horse or foot from Rieden and Hopfen. Rainis is super low key and sells good beer and mountain food. Mostly outdoor seating, a couple of indoor tables. A wee play area for kids, a volleyball court on the grass, a swimming jetty and a little wooden kreuz to swim out to. Beautiful walks around faulensee. Highly recommended.

It's a nice little restaurant in the woods. In summer a busy place because there is a wee loch for swimming. Good hearty traditional food Bavarian style. Good Craig with the natives too.

What a gem in the middle of the beautiful Bavarian Wonderland! Don't expect fancy food though.
